ESL Pro League Finals London
The ESL Season 3 Pro League Finals are the cumulation of a fairly lengthy online season, split between 2 leagues, EU and NA.
The event is being split over 2 UK cities, with the group stage being held at the ESL Studios based in Leicester, taking place on Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th of May. The Semi finals and the Grand Final will be held over the weekend of Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th, at the iconic O2 Arena in London.
A total of 12 teams per league battled it out with the Top 4 of making up the 8 in attendance in the UK. In the EU league we saw the Ninjas take first place winning 19 of their 22 matches, in second were Astralis, Third place went the way of Fnatic and the fourth the way of G2 Esports. The 4 NA teams who have flown to the UK to compete are Luminosity Gaming, Cloud 9, OpTic Gaming and finally Team Liquid.
These 8 teams have been placed into 2 groups of 4 as follows:
Group A - LG, Astralis, OpTic and G2.
Group B – NiP, C9, Fnatic and Liquid.
The event is sure to be fiercely contested, not only due to pride and a desire to make the most of a hard fought season, but also due to the event being the second largest prize pool for an offline event in CS:GO history, with $512,000 up for grabs! Let's see how that is due to be broken down.
The Ninjas' first Group B match will be taking place against American side Team Liquid today at 17:30 CET.
Make sure to tune in and watch!
